Galata Museo del Mare is the largest and most innovative maritime museum of the Mediterranean Sea and it includes a full-scale Genoese galley (33 meters long) of the 17th century and a brigantine-schooner of the 19th century. The Museum displays 6000 original objects in its 23 rooms, enabling you to completely immerse yourself in the history of sea navigation.
Since May 2010 it has acquired the S 518 Nazario Sauro submarine, the first museum-ship which can be visited on the water. The Nazario Sauro gives visitors a chance to experience the living conditions of submariners aboard a real submarine.

Visitors, in an enthralling and innovative setting, can see the faithful reconstructions of a 17th century gallery and 19th century brigantine-schooner, the evocative "Sala Tempesta" in 4D, the "Transatlantici Italiani" exhibition and more than 6,000 original objects that tell the fascinating story of man's adventures on the sea.
All IYTC cardholders can enjoy the discounted ticket at 15 EUR (instead of 17 EUR) just showing the card at the ticketing office.
